For UC Santa Cruz Faculty and Staff

The FR Office can help UC Santa Cruz faculty and staff identify and approach potential foundations for funding, assist in inquiries and grant proposals, gather supporting materials, help in campus visits, facilitate interactions with the Office of Sponsored Projects and other collaborators, and obtain institutional signatures. Specific services provided by our office include:

Strategic Planning and Consultation

  • Information and background on foundation funding priorities and approaches.
  • Help with research into funding opportunities
  • Frame funding needs to align with foundation priorities
  • Provide coaching on how to initiate funding conversations with foundation representatives

Proposal Development

  • Outline, edit, and review your proposals
  • Assist with strategic budget planning

Pre-Award Grant and Gift Management

  • Help navigate foundation proposal requirements and on-line submission processes
  • Assist with routing proposals through the Office of Sponsored Projects, Office of Research and other campus stakeholders
  • Assist with site visits

Post-Award Grant and Gift Management

  • Route contracts and award letters for approval 
  • Facilitate required reporting
  • Edit stewardship letters
  • Assist with post-award site visits and recognition events
