Monterey Peninsula Foundation supports multiple student and community service programs across campus

A grant of $146,000 from the Monterey Peninsula Foundation provides much needed support for an unusual range of programs that assist students, enhance the University's organizational capacity, and bolster our service to the Monterey Bay community. Recipients include 1) Literacy Leaders—a program that provides literacy instruction for K-12 teachers throughout Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey Counties, 2) Girls in Engineering—a summer immersion program for 8th and 9th grade girls, 3) the Slug Support Program’s Student Emergency Fund—which aids students who face crises in housing, food, and health, and 4) UC Santa Cruz’s Division III Women’s Golf Team.
